Leanne Linsky has been doing comedy long enough to remember when “going viral” meant catching a cold from an open mic. She began studying comedy in Las Vegas in 2001 and, five years later, packed two suitcases and moved to New York City to pursue comedy. While in NYC, Leanne performed regularly and produced and hosted a weekly open mic, as well as a weekly stand-up show in the East Village. She wrote, performed, and produced her critically acclaimed one-woman show, which played in New York, Washington, DC, and Delaware, including runs at fringe and solo performance festivals. Leanne has trained at Upright Citizens Brigade (NY/LA), Magnet Theater (NY), The Second City (Las Vegas), and iO Chicago. Her acting work includes commercials, theater, and film, including a role in The Smiley Face Killers, winner of Best Documentary Thriller at the Los Angeles Thriller Film Festival. After relocating to Southern California, Leanne discovered that while the weather was great, the traffic was not. She continued performing and producing stand-up but wanted more stage time, real-time audience feedback, and a way to connect with comedy fans without spending half her life on the freeway. In August 2019—BC (Before COVID)—she began experimenting with online open mics. When existing tech fell short for live comedy, she founded Plauzzable: a live online comedy platform designed by a comedian, for comedians and fans. Today, Leanne continues to perform, host, and produce weekly online comedy events, creating supportive, fun, and professional spaces for comedians of all levels —without the commute. She’s serious about comedy, passionate about community, and always rooting for the laugh and the performer.
