SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

What you’ll do:
As a Software Developer, you will provide cost-effective software solutions that meet Plauzzable’s specific business requirements and deliver solutions that optimize our user experience and productivity.
- Actively participate in daily stand-ups and other scrum ceremonies.
- Design new solutions and drive alignment across engineering and product teams.
- Design, develop, test, and document software systems and provide timely and quality support.
- Write code to implement new features or optimize existing services.
- Determine the most efficient means to sufficiently test new code: unit tests, integration tests, performance tests, etc.
- Use logs, and monitoring tools, and work with the team to determine root causes across distributed components.
- Perform code reviews for members of the team, bearing a sense of responsibility for approved code.
- Lead implementation efforts as well as other cross-functional ICT efforts such as architectural enhancements or IT development process improvements.
- Ensure appropriate data mapping and data analysis, and prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written, coded, and tested.
- Anticipate and mitigate risk on projects.
- Monitor and report to management on the status of project efforts, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implementing corrective actions.
- Effectively communicate with teams on project progress and collaborate with teams in an open, respectful, flexible, empathetic manner.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of related experience crafting and operating backend services.
- 1+ years of related experience crafting and operating large-scale, high-availability backend services.
- Proven track record of designing and driving consensus on backend architectures.
- Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, databases, etc)
- Experience with asynchronous programming.
- Experience with functional programming patterns.
- Experience with AGILE/Scrum practices.
- Skilled at work breakdown and task estimation.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to share your knowledge with team members
- Experience deploying and scaling within a cloud infrastructure.
- Experience using source control systems and CI/CD pipelines (such as git, Github, Jenkins).
- Experience with observability tools for metrics, logging, and monitoring (such as Datadog and Grafana).
- Experience building solutions that utilize NoSQL databases and distributed caching technologies.
- Experience deploying and scaling within a cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with A/B testing platforms, feature flagging, and related systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
Washington State Residency Requirement:
You must be eligible to work inside the United States and reside in the state of Washington.
Location:
You’ll work remotely (from home) in the state of Washington. We will hold meetings on Zoom and occasionally meet in person.
Work Schedule:
Your normal full-time work schedule will be Monday – Friday. The days and start/end times are somewhat flexible in this role.
Pay:
Negotiable based on experience.
